English | In front of a globe a compass rose, and in front of the whole, a Red River cart wheel. |
Origin/meaning
This base, situated in the Winnipeg area of Manitoba through which the Red River flows, whies to adopt as its badge as Red River cart wheel which has become the symbol for the city of Winnipeg. The Compass rose is introduced to emphasize the area's central location at the crossroads of Canada's traditional east/west flight lines. The terrestial globe portrays the world wide field and beyond in which the graduates of Winnipeg's Navigation Schools will serve.
The Motto translates as "Look to the future".
