Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 26, 1966.

The village of Unterbissingen belonged to the property of the Dukes of Oettingen for centuries. Hence the cross of the arms of the Dukes of Oettingen in the upper half.

The village church belongs to the Diocese of Augsburg and therefore shares the Diocesis' colors; the fish reminds of the church's patron, St. Ulrich in form of his attribute.
