BAD TÖLZ (TÖL)

State:Bayern
Incorporated into: 1973 Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

Wappen von Bad Tölz (kreis)/Arms (crest) of Bad Tölz (kreis)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 18, 1957.

The right part shows the arms of Bayern as a symbol for the fact that the disctrict is one of the oldest areas in Bayern. It became part of Bayern in the 13th century. The staffs in the left part are taken from the arms of the abbey of Benediktbeuern in the district. The abbey owned the whole western part of the district.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
