Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 21, 2009.
The arms combine in the upper half the former arms and the arms of Loburg. The base refers to agriculture and nature.
The previous arms show the former local castle. The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the city, dating from 1473. During DDR times the arms were shown with a blue roof, instead of the historical green roof.
