Origin/meaning
The arms were proposed in 1902 and adopted in 1903. The arms show the sword and key, symbols of the local patron saints St. Paul and St. Peter respectively.
Previously the town used a seal with an undefined symbol, looking like a stick, rising from a chevron, and with a small cross on top. This probably was the old village sign.
