====Origin/meaning====
As far as I know these arms have not yet officially been granted, but are in use by the municipality for some years.

The tree is a canting element, an alder (Erle in German) for the first part of the name. The bend symbolises a border-pole. The village historically was on the border between Sachsen (later Sachsen-Weimar) and the [[Mainz (State)|State of Mainz]] (later Prussia).
