Crest :On a Wreath of the Colours, between two Wings expanded Azure, each charged with five Mullets Argent, a Torch erect Sable enflamed proper.

Motto: 'Crescit Eundo'.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on 25 June 1969.
The blue field and the gold wavy chief represent Botany Bay and the beaches of the municipality. It was here Captain James Cook arrived in the bark Endeavour, and was the first European to set foot on the east coast of Australia.
The other supporter honours the Dharuk Aborigines, original custodians of the Sydney basin. The Banksia flower was first seen here and named after Sir Joseph Banks, the expedition's botanist. The five blooms represent the five wards of the municipality in 1969. In the crest the torch was the original insignia of Rockdale, and the two blue wings with stars refer to Kingsford-Smith, Sydney's international airport. The compartment, with red sandstone 'rock' on a grassy 'dale' is a rebus or pun on the name of the City.
