Origin/meaning
The arms of the city show a female figure between two antlers. The origin or meaning of these arms is not known. The arms first appear on a 16th century seal. Some later seals show similar images, but the child shown between the antlers is later replaced by a female person holding a ball. During the last century the then Prussian city used the arms with the child, the now Polish city uses the female holding a ball.
