The first arms were granted to the city by Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary on December 26, 1486, which were based on the old seal of the city. The new, current, arms were granted in 1538 by Emperor Ferdinand I.

The first arms were granted to the city by Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary on December 26, 1486, which were based on the old seal of the city. The new, current, arms were granted in 1538 by Emperor Ferdinand I.
