Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 19, 2009.
The arms show the eagle of Brandenburg above a hill with a sword. This refers to the legend that in the early Middle Ages there has been a fierce battle on a hill between the Franks and the Slavic people, with the Franks defending the later Mark Brandenburg. The sounds of the wounded could be heard all around, which gave the hill its name, Winselberg (Winseln=moaning), which later became Vinzelberg.
The small shield shows a dromedar, taken from the arms of the Lords von Kröcher, a medieval noble family, which had possessions in the region.
