State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Oberallgäu (until 1973 Kempten)
Additions : 1972 Memhölz; 1976 Martinszell im Allgäu, Niedersonthofen
Official blazon

Origin/meaning
The arms are granted on December 1, 1949.
The arms show in the upper part the arms of the Lords of Rauns and in the lower part the arms of the Lords of Werdenstein. The Von Rauns family bought Waltenhofen in 1367. In 1464 the family became extinct and the Von Werdenstein family inherited the town.
