Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on January 29, 1923. The arms show a lighthouse as a symbol for the importance of the local harbour. The Kaffe Hag album shows the arms as above, the Norske Kommunevåpen shows the arms with a bordure with four castles and in the upper part the year 1923 and around the base the name of the municipality.
