Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of France - Armorial de France |
ALGRANGE
Département : Moselle
Official blason :
De gueules au marteau d'argent, chargé d'un dragon contourné d'or, les ailes éployées et la queue tortillée autour du marteau.
Origin/meaning
The hammer and the red colour refer to the metal industry in the town. The dragon is taken from the arms of the St. Vanne Abbey in Verdun, as Algrange historically was one of the main possessions of the abbey.
