Tiercé en pairle au 1° d’argent au pont à deux arches d’or maçonné de sable mouvant des flancs et surmonté de trois sapins arrachés de sinople, au 2° d’azur au tambour de papeterie d’or d’où pend une coulée de papier d’argent en pal, au 3° de sinople au temple de Mercure d’argent, le tout sommé d’un chef d’or à la bande de gueules chargée de trois alérions d’argent.
Origin/meaning
The upper part show the local bridge and forests. The name may be derived from the bridge over the Moselle river. The lower right half shows a cogwheel and a sheet of paper, as a reference to the local paper mills. The lower left half shows a Temple of Mercurius, ruins of such a temple have been excavated in the municipality.
