Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
STADECKEN
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Mainz-Bingen (until 1969 Mainz)
Incorporated into : 1969 Stadecken-Elsheim
Origin/meaning
The above arms were proposed in 1956, I have no information whether the municipality actually adopted these arms.
The arms show a cross, the old village sign, placed on the arms of the Wittelsbach family, Counts of the Pfalz. The village became a possession of the Pfalz in 1583.
Literature : Hessisches Wappenbuch, 1956
