Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
REHAU (REH)
State : Bayern
Incorporated into : 1973 Hof
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 11, 1963.
The arms show in the right half the quartered arms of the Hohenzollern dynasty. As Markgraves of Nürnberg they gradually acquired many estates in the district since the 13th century. They ruled most of the district until 1793. The vase symbolises the china and porcelain industry in the district.
