State : Bayern

Additions : 1972 Dattenhausen, Herrenstetten; 1976 Untereichen; 1978 Bergenstetten, Filzingen

Wappen von Altenstadt (Iller)

Official blazon

  • (de) In Silber auf grünem Boden ein grüner Eichbaum mit goldenen Eicheln.

Origin/meaning

The arms were probably adopted by the town in the second half of the 19th century. The oak is a canting symbol (Eiche=oak). At least in 1835 the town did not use any arms, it was said that all archives were abroad. No old seals or pictures existed, so the municipality started to use the oak.

Siegel von Altenstadt (Iller)

The municipal stamp shown in 1892
Wappen von Altenstadt (Iller)

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
