BODENBURG
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Hildesheim
Incorporated into : 1974 Bad Salzdetfurth
German |
Origin/meaningThe arms were granted in 1951. The arms are based on the arms of the arms of the Lords of Steinberg. The Lords of Steinberg were one of the oldest noble families in the area (they became extinct in 1897). They were the vassals of the Bishops of Hildesheim and after 1359 of the Dukes of Braunschweig in the castle in Bodenburg. The key is added as a symbol for the local St. John's church.
