Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 31, 1936.
The red chevron is derived from the arms of the former Ravensberg County, to which the region belonged. The base is canting, Brackwede means "Forest near water". The hills represent the hills of the Teutoburger Wald. To the Amt belonged :
