NO 5001 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed in 1941 as No. 1 Works Squadron and renumbered as No. 5001 (Light) Airfield Construction Squadron on April 1, 1943.

Motto: Fit via vi = A way made by force.
Origin/meaning
The Bezant alludes to the Desert where the Unit operated whilst the ant allude to the Industrious Work of this Airfield Construction Squadron.
