Official blazon
Escudo de azul, com um castelo de ouro aberto e iluminado de vermelho, tendo a torre central carregada por uma cruz de Santiago, de vermelho, e as laterais carregadas, cada uma por um escudete de azul em ponta, besantado de prata. O castelo assente num monte de penhascos de negro, realçados de prata e de verde, cortado por três faixetas ondadas, duas de prata e uma de azul. Coroa mural de cinco torres de prata. Listel branco com os dizeres : " CIDADE DE ALMADA ".
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 30, 1985.
Unfortunately I have no background information on these arms. Any information is welcome !
The previous arms were granted on May 25, 1936 and only differ in the crown.
