Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on May 33, 2014.

The griffin is taken from the arms of the Gryf family, to which the area historically belonged and who founded the village of Gdów. The griffin is holding a sword for the other medieval knights who had possessions in the region, and also refers to the Battle of Gdów from 1846.

The wavy bar is the Rada river.
