The arms were officially adopted on January 28, 1966 and confirmed on April 24, 2003.

The arms of Jaworzno are canting, the name means "cutting a sycamore tree.

The previous arms of Jaworzno combine a picture of a coalminer at work in reference to the oldest industry in this city, and the picture of sycamore tree .
