Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 11, 1994.
The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg, to whom the village belonged for several centuries. The wavy bend is a canting element for the two villages Alsbach (bach-brook) and Scheibe (Scheibe=disk). The disks also refer to the target of the shooting in biathlon, which is a popular sport in the area.
