Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 16, 1935.
The arms show the bar taken from the arms of the Counts of the Mark, who ruled the area in the medieval times. The divided shield of gold and blue is the historical arms of the Lords of Plettenberg. Similar arms were used by the Amt Plettenberg.
