Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on ?
The arms show the lion ofthe Counts of Sayn, to which the area historically belonged. The water mill wheel symbolises the former important water mill in the village. The plough refers to the agricultural character of the municipality and the five wheat ears refer to the five settlements in the municipality; Altenhof, Hofacker, Höllburg, Berg and Hahn.
