NO 258 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE

Hisotry: Formed at Luce Bay in August 1918.

In front of wings elevated and conjoined in base Or, a panther's face sable.
Motto: In medias res = Into the middle of things.

Origin/meaning

The Squadron was mainly operational in Sumatra, Java, Ceylon and Bengal where th Balck Panther is to be found. The badge was granted in June 1945.
