Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 8, 1963.
The chequered field refers to the County Sponheim, to which part of the area historically belonged. The lion in the lower half refers to the Duchy Pfalz-Zweibrücken, to which another part of the municipality belonged. The chief shows a canting bridge (Brücke).
