Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms show two beech leaves for the large beech forests in the municipality. The tower refers to the former local castle, the Asseburg, which dates from the 13th century. The miner's tools refer to the former salt mines in the village.
The colours are a canting element, as the name is derived from 'area near white water'. The green also refers to the nature, the silver to the salt mining.
