Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 3, 1974.
The arms are a combination of the two lions of the arms of the Hohenlohe dynasty and the wheel of the State of Mainz. Most of the district was ruled for some time by the Hohenlohe family, but some parts were a possession of the bishops of Mainz. The wheel already appeared in the arms of the district Künzelsau, the lions in Öhringen.
