Origin/meaning

The oldest seal form the town dates from 1686 and shows the upper part of an archer. The present arms are based on a seal from 1800, which showed a ball. The upper part symbolises the Holy Trinity.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
