Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 27, 1984.
The arms show a Roman watchtower, as in Roman times the area was the border between the Roman Empire and the territory of the Allemann tribes. The other elements represent the two monasteries that had possessions in the area; the cross of the Isny Abbey and the sword and key of the Mehrerau Abbey.
