- (1932) In sinopel een golvende dwarsbalk van zilver vergezeld in het schildhoofd van twee spitsruiten van goud en in den schildvoet van een stijgbeugel van hetzelfde, het schild geplaatst voor een S. Paulus van goud.
- (1987) Gedeeld : 1. in sinopel een Sint-Paulus van zilver, 2. in keel een kruis van goud.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 26, 1987.
The saint in the arms is taken from the old arms (see below), whereas the cross refer to Rummen. Instead of the three circlets of the old Rummen arms, the new municipality choose a cross from the arms of the Hoen de Cartils family. The village of Rummen was a possession of the family in the 16th century. They enlarged their possessions and kept the village until 1772.
The previous arms were officially granted on December 16, 1932.
The arms show a wavy bend symbolising the Geete river, from which the name of the village is derived, flowing through the green fields. The two diamonds and the stirrup are derived from the arms of the Rijckman family, Lords of Geetbets since the middle of the 17th century.
