Origin/meaning
Murnau received special rights in 1350 from Ludwig of Brandenburg, such as a market right. The oldest seal probably dates from the same time, and already shows the dragon. The arms never changed since. The colours are known since 1565 and 1568 and haven't changed either.
The actual origin or meaning of the dragon is not known.
