Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1990.
The arms show Lady Justice, derived from the old seal of the local council. In 1945 a seal for the town was introduced, showing a tower and a pine tree on a mountain. In 1977 the seal was made into a proper coat of arms with the same elements, see below.
