Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 31, 1990.

The arms are based on elements from the arms of the three municipalities in the Samtgemeinde; the ram's head from Eimke, the arrow from Gerdau and the tower from Suderburg.

To the Samtgemeinde belong the following municipalities :
