Origin/meaning

The arms show the claw of a griffin. These are derived from the canting arms of Lord Johann Erwin von Greiffenclau zu Vollrads, who received the village in loan in 1700. Greiffenclau means griffin's claw.

The municipality uses the claw as shown above, but previous images showed the claw as shown below.
