LAUBACH

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Giessen
Additions : 1971 Gonterskirchen, Lauter, Münster, Röthges, Ruppertsburg, Wetterfeld; 1972 Altenhain, Freienseen

Wappen von Laubach (Hessen)/Arms (crest) of Laubach (Hessen)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1952, but are identical to the arms shown on the local fountain from 1658 (colours) and local seals since the middle of the 16th century. The arms are a variation on the arms of the Counts of Solms (see also Braunfels). One of the branches of the Solms dynasty resided in the local castle since 1548.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
