German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 18, 1971.

The arms are basically similar in design as the old arms (see below), except that the colours were changed and the rose of Lippe was added.

The previous arms were granted on February 12, 1908

Wappen von Lügde/Arms (crest) of Lügde

The arms combine the symbols of the Counts of Schwalenberg-Pyrmont (cross) and the State of Köln (key). The city historically was a possession of the Counts of Schwalenberg-Pyrmont, and was later jointly ruled and finally acquired by the Archbishops of Köln.

Wappen von Lügde

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
