HEILIGENKREUZ AM WAASEN
State : Steiermark
District : Leibnitz
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 28, 1958.
The cross in the arms refers to the name of Heiligenkreuz (Holy Cross). The wheat-ear represents agriculture, which was the municipality's most important occupation when the arms were granted.
Waasen is an old word, meaning Wiese (meadow). The meadow can also be seen in the green tincture of the shield.
