OMSUKCHANSKY RAYON (Омсукчанский район)
Federal subject : Magadan Oblast
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 3, 2016.
The nomadic Even people called these places "Omchikchan", which means "a small swamp," and preferred to settle in other areas. Everything changed when the geologists came here, who found here rich deposits of tin, gold and silver. The three stones symbolize these main ores of the district: the gold stone is gold, and the two silver ones are silver and tin.
The sun symbolize the location of the Omsukchan city district in the east of Russia. The two hills symbolize the natural features of the territory.
The three salmons symbolize the fishery of the district.
The arms are a re-design of the previous arms, adopted on February 13, 2004, which showed the same elements, but not in a proper heraldic way.
