The village was a possession of the Counts of Homburg until 1447. Their arms, a silver lion in red, are shown in the right half. The golden lion and the diamonds are taken from the arms of the Dukes of the Pfalz-Zweibrücken, who succeeded the Counts of Homburg in 1447.
