THE KING'S SHROPSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY, BRITISH ARMY
History: Raised in 1755 as the 55th Foot (53rd foot in 1757) and in 1794 as the 85th, or Bucks Volunteers, Regiment. In 1881 these two Regiments become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of The King's Light infantry (Shropshire Regiment).
