Portuguese | Escudo de verde, em faixa um aqueduto de três arcos de prata, lavrado de negro. Em chefe uma manga de vento enfunada de prata, posta em banda, à dextra, com haste e rolamentos de ouro e ferros de negro. Brocante sobre esta e à sinistra, hélice de aviação com cubo de vermelho e duas pás de ouro posta em contrabanda, com cores e metais entre-cambadas e em contra-chefe romãzeira de três ramos arrancada, florida e frutada de ouro, com bagas de fruto vermelhas. Coroa mural de cinco torres de prata. Listel branco com a legenda de negro : " CIDADE DA AMADORA ". |

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 15, 1984.
The upper part shows symbols as a reference to the local airport. The bridge is a symbol for the many historical buildings and monuments, and thus for the long history of the town. The pomegranate tree refers to the rapid growth and development of the town.
