OMÉLLS DE NAGAYA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida
Catalan | Escut caironat: d'argent, un cérvol de gules sobremuntat d'un om de sinople. Per timbre una corona mural de vila. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms have been officially granted on 29th March 1995.
The red deer is taken from the canting arms of the Cervera family, and in this particular case it symbolizes Gaia de Cervera, the landlady of the town. The elm tree above is a canting element too, and is an allusion to the name Omells (Catalan for "little elm trees").
