GÜNZACH
(until 1976 Immenthal)

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Ostallgäu

Wappen von Günzach/Arms (crest) of Günzach
Official blazon
German

Geteilt von Rot und Blau; oben ein durchgehender silberner Wellenbalken, unten ein silbernes Buchenblatt.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 21, 1957.

The red-blue division is taken from the arms of the former Kemptem Abbey, to which the area historically belonged. The upper half shows the Günz river in the municipality. The base shows a beech leaf (Buche) and symbolises the former Buchenhain area in the municipality.
