Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 22, 1939.
The village is situated in the so-called Grossen Freien ('large freedom') region and the upper half shows the lion of the Freien.
The lower half shows the arms of the Von Alten family, who originated from the village, and who approved the use of the family arms in 1937.
