RAF STATION CATTERICK, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: The Station is believed to have formed on 15 September 1916. It was closed on 30 June 1994.
Official blazon
In front of a pentagon point in base the upper edge embattled and divided fesswise at the lateral points vert and bleu celeste a Roman Centurion's helmet in bend sinister Or pöumed gules.
Motto: Vigilance and knowledge.
Origin/meaning
The Pentagon allude to the Castle Hills located near the Boundary of the Station. The Roman Centurion's Helmet is indicative of a Military Base once occupied by the Romans and in present day by the RAF. The Colouring is indicative of the Hills and Rivers nearby. The Badge was approved in March 1971.
