The arms show a city and between the towers the arms of [[Maximilian Rudolf von Schleinitz]] the first Bishop of [[Diocese of Litoměřice|Litoměřice]] from 1655-1675. The bishop had requested city rights for the town in his diocese, the arms were a result of the granting of these rights.
