Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ?

The visible landmark of the community is the tower of the Catholic parish church, which has been a protected cultural monument since 1983. The unarticulated, west-facing tower with a pointed spire was built in the 13th century. It is a testament to the architecture of this era.

From 1260 until its dissolution in 1809, the Teutonic Order maintained a Commandory in Waldbreitbach, which was also the seat of an Order's Comtur. The influence of the Order on the Waldbreitbach area was significant. While the original building was built in the mid-13th century, the building that still exists today dates from the early 18th century. The cross is the symbol of the order.

The mill wheel refers to the oil and grain mills, some of which were still in operation until about the middle of the 20th century. Today, the working method is demonstrated at a restored oil mill. The mill wheel is also a symbol for the craft and medium-sized businesses that still shape the economic structure of the community today.
